Pumpkin Time

This morning, Eliza's preschool went to the local pumpkin patch. Because crops have to be switched each year in order to maintain fertile soil, the pumpkin patch was actually a corn field this harvest. Therefore, pumpkins were brought over and placed in the field so the kids could still feel like they were actually picking out their pumpkin. Clever, huh?

Eliza couldn't be tricked, though. After reading several books on how pumpkins grow, she immediately asked, "But where is the green vine?' We decided it wasn't too much fun walking on corn stalks and picked out a pumpkin pretty quickly.

After posing for pictures, we measured Eliza's height (she is 3 pumpkins tall) and headed to Walmart (which you can clearly see in the background) to buy pink paint.

Eliza is pretty determined to have a pink pumpkin that looks like Foofa (from Yo Gabba Gabba). I am the least crafty person around, so we'll see how it turns out. Maybe I can get it to look something like the below picture if I am lucky.

  3. Why am I not surprised?! Haha. Only that girl would want a pink pumpkin. Does she know what she wants to be for Halloween? Or should I even ask. Probably Rapunzel is my guess.
